High elf power would be good, but chances are if you need that much mana to shit spells at your enemies you're already wearing/enchanting fortify destruction gear. This is also why a lot of people switch to the Imperious mod, adjusting many things about each race, making them more fun and balanced. But this doesn't mean it's not fun to use and good for roleplaying.Īltmer can be chosen over Orcs for the +50 Magicka start and skill distribution if you want to play a pure mage, Bosmer/Khajiit can be chosen over Orcs for the skill distribution if you want to play a pure sneak archer, but for all other cases Orcs are superior because of their overpowered racial ability.

It may save you in a pinch, but Berserker Rage would save you almost as often against humans, and plenty more often against creatures with the 50% damage reduction. Voice of the Emperor doesn't calm creatures, and many boss fights are against powerful drauger/centurions/dragons, etc.
